New in 2026: Impossible Mission Force
“As always, should you or any of your I.M. force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.”
In 1966, producer Bruce Geller presented a new kind of action series called Mission: Impossible. While the show took a little time to find its audience, the characters and stories resonated with viewers and by season three it was a hit. For seven seasons the series found a home on CBS’ network, airing alongside another Geller hit series, Mannix. In the spring of 1973 Paramount had the option to cancel the series at the end of its seventh season. Network brass, in planning the fall schedule for September 1973 met and reportedly decided the studio could make more money syndicating the show rather than producing additional new episodes. So the series was canceled. However, all was not lost when it re-appeared in the late 1980s and then in a series of feature films.
Now, look back at the iconic series and its impact on TV and film. In addition, step back in time with a brand new story with the original Impossible Mission Force task with a new mission and a killer in their midst.
